Steel exists so “browser as sandbox” is not only a SaaS. Read the current license. Use it when computer-use traffic cannot leave your network. Not a coding harness.

Strengths

Browser API with a public repo and a hosted option.

Alternative to fully proprietary browser clouds.

Limitations

You will operate browsers. That is painful.
License/cloud split should be verified.
Not for compiling native repos.
