Editorial take
Prefect is listed so data/ML orgs do not think they must install Temporal to run a nightly agent. It is a workflow engine. Not an LLM. Cloud vs OSS is the usual split.
Strengths
- Apache-2.0 flows Python teams already know.
- Retries, schedules, observability of runs.
- Cloud option.
Limitations
- Not an agent framework.
- Another orchestrator in a crowded drawer.
- Easy to hide an unsupervised agent on a cron.
