Editorial take
OpenCode is a readable CLI harness in a crowded terminal-agent field. The important editorial fact is the Kilo relationship: do not file them as one product. If you need a gateway and IDE plugins, that is Kilo. If you want the upstream CLI, this is the listing.
Strengths
- MIT source and a terminal workflow you can script.
- Bring-your-own models.
- Upstream of at least one commercial CLI fork, which is a sign the code is used.
Limitations
- No sandbox or control plane.
- Docs and org naming have moved; confirm the current GitHub org on the website.
- You operate inference and secrets.
