Agent Development Kit
Verified
Google’s open kit for building Gemini-centered agents.
Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) is an open-source framework for building agents that run well on Google’s stack (Gemini, Vertex, Agent Engine). It is an SDK, not Jules and not Gemini CLI.

Editorial take
ADK is how Google wants you to structure agents. Locked in practice to Gemini even when the kit is Apache. List it so Vertex shops do not pretend they need LangGraph for political reasons. Still not a sandbox.
Strengths
- Apache-2.0 kit with first-party Google integration.
- Fits Vertex/Agent Engine deployments.
- Separate from Jules and Code Assist.
Limitations
- Gemini-centered despite an open repo.
- Not a coding harness.
- Docs and product names around Agent Engine still move.
