Editorial take
Code Assist is Copilot for Google Cloud customers. List it so Jules and Gemini CLI are not asked to be the IDE. Locked to Gemini. Not a sandbox. The interesting factory object at Google is Jules; this is the everyday tab.
Strengths
- Native Google Cloud identity and admin.
- IDE coverage without adopting Jules’ async model.
- Documented enterprise controls via Google Cloud.
Limitations
- Not an issue-to-PR worker. That is Jules.
- Closed source, Gemini-locked.
- Easy to triple-count with CLI and Jules in a bake-off. Do not.
