Editorial take

CodeRabbit is the default review noise many teams already have. Useful as a first pass. Harmful if it trains humans to skim. Measure address rate like Uber measured uReview, or you are buying theater. Model lock is practical even if a picker appears.

Strengths

  • Mature PR integration and a review-only job.
  • GitHub and GitLab coverage.
  • Less confused with an authoring agent than Copilot.

Limitations

  • Closed source, cloud-hosted review.
  • Comment volume can become pager noise.
  • Not a hold-out eval.

Compare

  • vs graphite — Stacked-diff workflow versus AI review comments on every PR.
