Editorial take
CodeRabbit is the default review noise many teams already have. Useful as a first pass. Harmful if it trains humans to skim. Measure address rate like Uber measured uReview, or you are buying theater. Model lock is practical even if a picker appears.
Strengths
- Mature PR integration and a review-only job.
- GitHub and GitLab coverage.
- Less confused with an authoring agent than Copilot.
Limitations
- Closed source, cloud-hosted review.
- Comment volume can become pager noise.
- Not a hold-out eval.
Compare
- vs graphite — Stacked-diff workflow versus AI review comments on every PR.
