Sourcegraph’s agent-native coding product, successor energy to Cody.
Amp is Sourcegraph’s coding agent: an editor- and CLI-centered agent that works across repositories with Sourcegraph’s code intelligence behind it. Cody was the previous assistant brand. If you still have Cody docs bookmarked, follow the current Amp URLs instead of listing both.

Editorial take
Amp is what Sourcegraph wants the category to remember instead of Cody. The interesting claim is still context over a large codebase, not a new chat skin. We list Amp and not Cody to avoid a duplicate product. Pricing and model routing should be re-read on ampcode.com; we are not repeating credit-table screenshots.
Strengths
- Built to use Sourcegraph-scale code context, not a single open folder.
- Agent surfaces beyond tab completion.
- Documented editor and CLI paths.
Limitations
- Proprietary cloud product. Not the open Sourcegraph instance you self-host for search.
- Cody-era mental models and configs will not map 1:1.
- Usage pricing will rot; confirm on the vendor page.
Compare
- vs continue — Sourcegraph’s agent versus the open IDE extension it used to neighbor.
